[That catches him even more off guard. Did Huaisang do a murder???
Okay no, he shouldn't assume that. Why the hell would Huaisang come to him for that?]
All right, all right, c'mon... [He ushers Huaisang inside. His room isn't too messy...yet. If anything, it's surprisingly neat for what one might assume of Raven.] Start talkin'. What's wrong?
[ He really shot himself in the foot there. He didn't need to embarrass himself further!! ]
That's fine, though. Because...imagining you as someone who can console easily? You don't really have that kind of aura? Or appearance? It'd be kind of funny, now that I think about it...
I picked you because...erm, I don't know. I'm not very good at thinking too hard about why I decide to choose people. But, you're not a mean person? You're actually funny sometimes, and you're not a grouchy old man.
And yeah, we can talk about whatever. It could even be something like your favorite kind of food, or the silliest thing you've ever done. Passing the time in regular conversation is good enough for me.
Eh, I don't usually find a need for it. Speed datin's when you're in a big group and you spend time with other singles for a few minutes each. Questions are super simple and quick. Y'know, icebreaker type stuff like what you suggested.
Me? I've already got casual relationships, so I hook up with them when I have the time. And let me tell ya, nothin' beats spending time with a lovely lady after a long, hard day.
Oh, I see...that's not the type of thing I could do casually...
[ He's absolutely glad it was explained because otherwise he'd still be kind of making guesses.
Still, ah yes, this kind of talk. This was a flahback to his younger days in Cloud Recesses with his good friend, Wei Wuxian and you know...boys were boys.
Boys are still boys, because here was Huaisang, asking: ]
Spending time with lovely ladies, that is. But, out of curiosity, what do you think about some of the girls in our group? Any one of them catch your eye?
[ Like he hadn't spoken to all of them, but he had certainly seen them all by now. Of them, on looks only, Junko kind of looked the cutest. ]
[Sorry Huaisang, you keep setting yourself up for teasing...
But he lays off quickly enough, since it's apparently gossip time. He sighs and closes his eyes.]
Definitely Morgan fer sure. She's exactly the type of beautiful fairy ya hear about in fairytales. [Way more beautiful than the monsters in his world.] And that cold, aloof air she puts on only adds ta her charm.
[Hmmm, who else...]
Yuri's got that delicate princess angle that's always cute, an' Yor's... [He trails off for a moment. Oof.] Well, Yor's quite the enigma. I like mysterious women too. But she's off the market.
...And if I'm honest, Zola mighta turned into my favorite.
W-ha...no! I just want to one day meet my one and only...
[ Huaisang was such a helpless romantic...which probably wouldn't help with his case here. But he's listening to Raven list all the beauties with rapt attention. ]
I don't think I spoke to Morgan much, but she does look pretty.
Yuri's cute too. Though she can get scary, so I don't want to anger her, or ever get on her bad side...Junko looked cute too though I haven't spoken to her. And, well, Yor seemed rather mature, so I can get why you like her.
[ But he also knew why Yor was said to be off the market. Being married and a family would naturally make that a thing. ]
I never got the appeal for Zola, though. She...we kind of had a rocky first meeting. But, what about her made you think she could've been your favorite?
[You know what, good for Huaisang!! He's not gonna get any smart remarks from Raven on that, honestly.
As for Zola...]
How do I put it? Hmmm... She was fun. I didn't get ta know her as herself 'til the end, but I always got the sense that there was more to her. Like we mighta had a lot in common.
[ He was a little distracted saying that, so he sounded softer, more thoughtful, and lightly tapped his chin for a second as he thought about it. He recalled when Zola had said: "I couldn't just stop the act just because I was brought here."
That was probably it. Though it wasn't a sentence he found comfort in, he could see why someone who could relate to that would (maybe he was an outlier in that, however.) ]
I can get why someone would like somebody they had something in common with. It's actually kind of romantic. There's a lot of novels where it ends up that way.
Week 1, Post- Trial
All they had to do was relax, right? Wrong. Being in his alone and miserable was something Huaisang couldn't stand. ]
Raven! Raven!
[ At some point post-trial, Huaisang will be running to his room, and giving a knock on his door. ]
no subject
He stumbles over to the door and opens it.]
What? What? What's goin' on?!
[Was there another murder??]
no subject
[ So sorry for your lack of rest with Huaisang's nonsense today... ]
I don't know what to do...
no subject
[That catches him even more off guard. Did Huaisang do a murder???

...
...Well, I just really didn't want to stay by my lonesome in my room, but I wasn't hungry, so...I freaked out, not knowing who to come to.
[ He would go to the afterparty much later, most likely. But he wanted to be one-on-one for a bit and so his face turned into a pleading one. ]
I also just wanted to speak to a familiar face, or rather someone I've spoken to before. Don't be mad at me for all of that, okay?
no subject
[Raven heaves out a sigh and plops back down on his bed.]
I'm not mad at ya, but ya had me worried for a second! I thought someone got hurt, or you did somethin' stupid again.
["Again"]
Well, make yerself comfortable I guess... But I'll warn ya now, I'm not good at the whole consolin' thing.
1/2
[ Huff puff ]
no subject
...Actually, please don't answer that.
[ He really shot himself in the foot there. He didn't need to embarrass himself further!! ]
That's fine, though. Because...imagining you as someone who can console easily? You don't really have that kind of aura? Or appearance? It'd be kind of funny, now that I think about it...
no subject
Jeez, way ta rub it in... Why'd ya pick me, then? Didja just wanna talk about...whatever?
no subject
[ Innocent look and then he'll answer: ]
I picked you because...erm, I don't know. I'm not very good at thinking too hard about why I decide to choose people. But, you're not a mean person? You're actually funny sometimes, and you're not a grouchy old man.

[ Huaisang, plz ]
no subject
What, my teasin' isn't too much for ya? I'm flattered, truly. You're pretty entertainin' yerself.
[Probably not in the way that Huaisang would like to be, but-- Nah, Raven thinks he's genuinely fun.
He rests his arms behind his head and leans up against the wall on his bed, a lazy smirk on his face.]
That sounds more like speed dating than an actual conversation.
no subject
[ He'll take out his fan and use it to fan himself lightly, looking briefly entirely too pleased with himself for that bit of teasing.
"Speed dating"...he's never even heard of that before, but he's definitely heard of dating, so he's not lost in a new term for once. ]
Oh really? ...Is that something you do a lot of back home?
no subject
