[ She takes a seat on her bed, clasping her hands together on her lap.
How is she? Well, her arm is all scratched up - she hasn't gotten injured in a while. She's so physically and emotionally exhausted from all that crying and yelling. And her heart is -
The easiest answer would be... ]
Tired, I suppose. [ Her smiling grimace says she knows that doesn't even cover how they both feel. ] And you?
[ Huaisang had been doing a lot of crying these past two days and though he's used to putting out the waterworks for far less serious situations, having to do so for reasonable ones made him far more tired, to put it simply.
He'll peer at her scratched up arm but won't say anything for now. He assumed she'll know to put ointment on it. ]
...The same. Upset too.
And maybe a lot of other things? I think you might have an idea of what I mean...a lot's happened, after all.
A good memory, maybe. I don't want to remember - [ A catch. ] - remember any of them as we last saw them. Though facing that truth is important, b-but...
Well, there was one time I made a terrible peach pun with Nageki and he got really angry with me. I thought the kind of face he made was hilarious...
[ Huaisang, pls. ]
There's also this one other time Wei-xiong made Lan Qiren, who was our teacher at the Cloud Recesses, really angry...angry enough to toss a scroll and Wei-xiong dodged perfectly. It ended up hitting me in the face, though.
[ He remembered how reckless the other bird was during the execution. But that was natural, in a way, even if it's not something he'd ever been himself...if he could help it, anyway. ]
Well...I'm not really sure. A lot of it is just immature teenage boy days which are kind of embarrassing.
Maybe one good memory would be when we got the chance to reunite after so many years of being apart. And at that time, Wei-xiong had shown he was still the same kind of person he was when I met him.
I could only really be happy about that, I think, as simple as it sounds.
Hehe, the embarrassing stories are the most cherished ones, I think. It means something when a memory is clear enough that the details stand out and embarrass you, no?
[ Blinks. Wei-xiong? ]
You call him by a different name. Is it a nickname?

Of course... It's hard to believe. You've had it rougher than everyone else these past couple of days. Did you need me to lend an ear?
[ He must have a lot he wants to say. ]

I'm not sure what to say, to be honest. Maybe I was looking for company too, after everything that's happened, but...
Where would I even begin?

I don't think I've ever seen Mister Nageki angry! What was he like?

[ Huaisang made a good :| face but it looked funny on him. ]
And he said something like, "Let's not."
It was as if he was about to summon a blizzard, but instead I was just trying not to laugh...

But that doesn't sound like him at all. Haha...

Oh, I think I get it. I guess he's really not to have gone to go the traditional route.
...It makes me wonder if Professor would do something like t hat, though.

Yes, he's quite open about his emotions. Like you, actually.

[ A sheepish smile graced his features at that. ]
Though I imagine he wouldn't admit to it if someone said those exact words to his face.

[ Then he'll blink at the question, smiling slightly. ]
Oh, kind of. It's like...a term of platonic endearment for someone you've known really well? I don't think there's really an apt translation for it...
[ Which is why it doesn't get translated, or so easily. ]
